Earlier in the year, I bought a dashcam which uses my cigar lighter socket for power and switches off when I remove the car key. The dashcam has the ability to record in the dark when the car is unoccupied but requires a permanent power connection.This fabulous kit has everything you need to connect to just about any make and model of dashcam. You don't even need to cut or splice existing wiring to connect the cable; simply remove a suitable blade fuse from the fusebox of your car (taking care to ensure that it is always live,) connect the supplied connector to the vacant socket and then plug the existing fuse you removed into the connector. Then simply run the cable back to your dashcam and hide the wire along the channel where the windscreen fits; any surplus cable can be strored behind the panelling of your car. Using this kit frees up your lighter socket for other purposes. It really is so simple to fit and will save you a considerable amount of money having your dashcam professionally fitted. An easy 5 stars!

After a lot of looking around and choosing not to spend a fortune, and after having positive answers to questions regarding the fitting, I opted for this kit.I was expecting a ten minute job, I did not get it. Not the products fault, but an issue with my car. The user manual for my Citroen C4 Airdeream shows a lovely image of the nice, open, easily accessed in-car fusebox in the glove compartment.In reality on removing the cover I was faced with nothing but a mess of wire bundles, connected to other wire bundles with coloured blocks at least 1.5" wide. About 3" behind these cables I could just make out the fuze box so clearly showed in the user manual. There was no way on earth I could even see the 10a power supply fuzes and a child couldn't have ever got their hand in there anyway.In the end I had to remove the glove compartment, exposing the miriad of wire bundles and finally, with a lot of twisting and contortionism, getting the damn thing in the fuze box.Finding an earth was a nightmare and fixing the control box would have been too if I hadn't had some velcro.But it worked just fine after that. Freeing up my power supply in the cubby hole of the autmatic car that I have, which, because of it's dumb hidden position in a sliding drawer and under a sliding cover, could not be used for the dashcam.Great though, now it is there, neat and tidy, ignition switched and I can forget about it. Marvelous.

Easy to install, much better than using the cigarette lighter. Plenty of length in the cable.

Absolutely perfect kit. More than ample cable lengths and fuse adapters to fit almost any car or van since the 70's (and probably many before that). If you have a fuse box in or under the dash, this is a very easy kit to fit in a very short time. Fitted it to my transit and routed the cable behind the trim mounting my camera behind the mirror in less than 15 mins.

I purchased this based on the overall good reviews, as always with Amazon it arrived quickly and the contents were as described. The plastic trim tool was handy to avoid damaging the trim when fitting.Unfortunately I wasted several hours fitting this and trying to get it to work. It did supply power to the dashcam but for some unknown reason it wouldn’t record, yet the dashcam worked fine with the original cable plugged into the cigarette lighter where it recorded automatically upon turning on.I purchased a branded Nextbase hardwire kit (the camera is not a Nextbase but a Mio) and the dashcam powers on and works as it should, recording automatically.

Very happy with this hard wired my dash cam this morning very straight forward. Have now used this at night and it performs perfectly well very good dashcam.

Purchased this kit to hard wire my dash cam in my Kia. It was easy to fit although keeping the wire under the head liner was a tad annoying.Recently I have been suffering from a flat battery and my garage have found it to be this unit. It is supposed to switch off when the voltage goes below 11.4V however this one has stopped working. I am now having to buy a new power supply after just under a year
