Fantastic tool box for truck, but pricey
Needed a tool box that had a low profile for the bed of my truck. This is used to hold an air compressor, tie downs, lug wrench and other items to free up space under the rear seat. I didn't want anything too large that would eat up a lot of square footage in the truck's bed and ended up with the Pelican. It's roomy enough but the walls of the case come inwards. I'm guessing to improve the weather sealing but I would have rather seen a stronger gasket seal and have the inch or so space inside the case. Have the side walls come straight up to meet the lid instead of having the lip.Speaking of weather sealing, the case holds up nicely. I do have a bed cover, but a few times it's rained and I had the cover rolled up. No water inside the Pelican.Latches are firm, but not too much so. There are plenty of anchor points to secure the case to prevent it from sliding around. It sits low enough that I can stack lumber on top of it without losing too much on an angle and narrow enough, I can slide stuff to the side of the case.It is pricey but I suspect this case will last a good long time. I'd rather spend a bit on a case that lasts, than less on a case I have to replace every few years.

Quality is impeccable, price, capacity not so much
BX55S has no effective capacity. Quality is exceptional, but too small to store much of anything (for $300+???). Mounting solution another $300+??? COME ON!!

Perfect size for 5’ Bed and Easy Access/Removal
Paired with the SDDLMT2B Saddle Case Bed Mount Kit in my Gen3 5’ Tacoma Bed.Love the case for easy access on the side of my bed and the case can easily be removed if I need the bed space. I am able to store jumper cables, breaker bar, torque wrench, tie downs, working gloves, bed tarp, and other tools while staying weather proof.

Heads Up These Things LEAK!!
Heads-up: This thing leaks! It's a shame, and no one was more surprised than me because I always considered Pelican a very reliable brand. However, I have two(2) of these cases, and they both leak in the same way.It mainly has to do with an obvious defect in the molding of these cases that allows the doors on both ends (front & rear) to warp slightly upward, compromising the seal at each end, front and back.So if you have any of these cases mounted or placed outside they *will let water in.
