This is much easier to read than the standard size. While it's true that the footnotes are printed in too light a font, this large print does make it a lot easier to read them. Well worth using a magnifier if you need to.This Bible has a great deal of information in it -- and while I don't expect to agree with every single idea presented in every footnote in ANY study Bible, I have found this to be an excellent and thought-provoking study bible FULL of historical information about the circumstances under which the Books were written. I really do like this Bible.Paper is relatively thin, but if it weren't, the Bible would be way too heavy, and while people often complain about thinner paper, there was a time when high quality Bibles were expected to have thinner paper -- which if properly manufactured can be very durable. The gold on the edges of the paper tends to make the pages stick together when you first get it, but as you use it, that problem corrects itself. The paper sticking together was a characteristic of well-made Bibles many years ago. If you can't get the pages to separate, BLOW on them. That works surprisingly well to separate the edges without damaging pages.I don't know if this is available in leather -- I didn't really like the cover when I first got it, but it's getting more flexible with use, and it seems to be reasonably durable. I'm actually beginning to like it with use.All in all, I am very satisfied with this Bible. The large print edition is not giant print but it's pretty good. I personally love the King James Version of the Bible. This one has a list in the back of obsolete words -- words we don't use any more or words which have changed meaning since the 1600s. That is a real convenience if you are not familiar with the old English.I would highly recommend this edition of this particular study Bible. The King James Version is translated from reliable texts. It certainly has stood the Christian churches in good stead for over 400 years.

This comprehensive, full-color, red-letter, indexed, reasonably priced publication elevates the concept of "Study Bible" to a new level. The binding, print and paper quality are among the highest I have come across -- at any price. I own four other study bibles, but in my opinion this one is the greatest among them! The inspired conservative study notes and articles are extensive, informative, accurate, easy-to-understand and well researched, shining light on numerous obscure passages and adding new life and insights to the familiar passages. The print quality is amazing, providing clean, consistently even ink density throughout, which doesn't bleed through. The paper feels like silk. The print size of this large print edition isn't too large, like some others. This makes reading a delight and easy on the eyes. The buyer should be aware that this is a large format Bible requiring an XXL Bible cover. I can not praise this Bible enough. Holman has a reputation for quality Bibles, but this one, for my needs, is the best ever!

My vision must be worse than I thought. I expected a larger (at least14 point) text for “large” print. It is a 10-point text. I would rate this a 4.5 for that reason, if only I knew how to half the last star.This is still a beautiful Bible. Beautiful maps and charts, Jesus’ words in red. As another reviewed mentioned, the study notes are even smaller. So the print in this version is disappointing overall. But it is quite a large Bible (but not so large print) and I will use it at home. It lies flat when open. I will try to find a comparably larger print for the Bible I take with me to study group.

Be careful! Remember that the notes in this study bible come from more than just one type of christian theology. I do not treat the commentary like gospel.I do love the look, feel and everything about this book. The pictures really show how amazing it was to live then. It also brings the history of the bible alive. I would recommend this study bible over any other since before purchasing it I watched tons of commentary on it and the theology of the commentators. Despite the warning I still think this study bible has a great deal of non biased writers with sound Biblical theology.Now its still colored by the false belief of spinning ball space cosmology but major publishers would likely not want to be mixed in with flat earthers. Also the leather touch cover is beautiful.

This is an awesome Bible. I bought it for my husband because his was starting to fall apart. The references and commentary is excellent and extensive. I considered getting one for myself, because my current Bible is 15 years old and definitely showing its age. The only reason I didn’t is because I don’t want to lose or have to copy all of my notes.It’s bigger than most Bibles and I don’t know if they make covers that would fit. When it arrived, I was worried he would think it was too big, but he said it’s perfect.It throws me for a loop every time I look through it because of all the colors throughout. Neither of us had ever seen a Bible like this, but we love it. He’s been reading it much more frequently as well, which is awesome!It’s a great Bible, and I would recommend it to everyone. If you have to have a cover for your Bible, definitely check the dimensions of everything before purchasing. That’s the only downside.

I have purchased this Bible many times over the years for myself and given to those who don’t have one and purchased a new one for me on repeat lol. Also purchased many times for gifts! I’ve even had friends see mine and order their own!
