Micro Brite Kitchen Towels High Absorbent Dish Drying Tea Towel Cloth pack of 2 (Blue)

When you buy tea towels you would think they are going to be safe for use with hot items or are you not? My fault maybe, as I didn't look to see what they were made out of. I was cooking steak in my griddle pan, and after cooking I placed the pan directly onto one of these tea towels...to my horror the tea towel literally melted into runny plastic all over my kitchen work surface and griddle pan. Straight away I put the whole pan into my sink full of cold water to stop this reaction and left it overnight. Next day, had to chisel the plastic off my expensive griddle pan and I am just praying I have got it all off as don't want to damage the halogen hob if some still remains. All these tea towels are good for is just drying utensils and hands. DO NOT USE for ANYTHING that's HOT! Imagine taking a hot tray out the oven, probably melt all over your hands, just dangerous!

Just ok. Both were stained with some orange colour. It feels like good quality though. Will see what it's like when I wash them.
